Employment History

Adventure Web Interactive

February 2019 to Present

Senior Web Developer

After earning my certificate at Anne Arundel Community College, I took on an internship here at Adventure Web. Over the course of five years, I have managed to climb up to the position of Senior Web Developer while working on incredibly diverse projects, ranging from small sites with a very short turnaround, to very large-scale e-commerce and other web applications. All sites are built using HTML, CSS, JS/jQuery, PHP, and MySQL. Due to my programming experience, I am responsible for projects that could be described as a mix of front-end and back-end work. Usually, they are extremely front-end intensive projects with moderate back-end complexity.

With recent changes in staffing, I have also taken on responsibilities generally seen as Systems Administration related. This involves configuring our servers for new projects, troubleshooting server issues, migration of website’s/databases, and managing DNS for clients.

Over the past two years, another massive responsibility I have taken on is working alongside our Internal Marketer and/or our client’s marketers to implement tracking for a wide range of user behaviors. Most of this tracking is for Google products, but I have also added tracking and implemented other types of connections with Facebook and Bing.

Portfolio

All themes are built from a bare-bones boilerplate using HTML, PHP, MySQL and CSS, and are populated via WordPress core fields, third party APIs, or Advanced Custom Fields. The items below that mention building the theme refer to the creation of the header, homepage, footer, and interior templates in pure HTML, PHP, JS/jQuery and CSS. This leaves WordPress to manage just the content alone, while our theme takes care of the front-end. In recent years, my responsibilities have shifted from strictly front-end development to both front and back-end development.

Filamatic

I have been almost solely responsible for the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of this site. It features a custom-built theme, a custom navigation to list products, and a spare parts portal locked behind a password.

Crystal Cleaning

I built the theme in its entirety.

Cedar Square Homes

I built the theme and the custom gallery template using a JS library for the light-box functionality, all of which can be populated by Advanced Custom Fields.

Bollinger Bros Roofing Contractors

I built the theme in its entirety.

Fitness by Oxy

This was designed by the client. I built the theme, user dashboard template, class management functionality, and all archives with filtering for custom taxonomies.

VacationAtMyPlace

I built the theme and all of the front-end of this site aside from a few of their campaign landing pages.

Marine Electric Systems

I built the theme in its entirety.

American Fundraising Services, Inc.

I did not participate in the initial theme development. I worked side by side with several other developers to create a fundraising management solution that includes connections with several third party APIs. The schools can choose catalogs to allow the participants to use, then the participants send invitations to shop in support of their account/school.

Clagett Residential Management, LLC.

I created the theme in its entirety in addition to it's connection to Bright MLS for maintaining updated listing information accross platforms.

AESU

I created a "Table of Contents" for the client to maintain themselves. There are two variations: one is meant for trips organized for alumni of certain universities; the other is meant for trips organized for users not affiliated with a university.

And many more...

The above list is only a small fraction of the work I've done while employed as a developer. For additional questions or inquiries regarding the work I've done, feel free to email me or call/text me at (443) 974-6826
